NLMI Men's Ministry Vision
Identity & Posture
New Life Ministries International is called to form men into Christlike leaders through humility, vulnerability, and brotherhood. As iron sharpens iron, men will rise as husbands, fathers, leaders, and servants—following Jesus, who came not to be served, but to serve.
Method & Movement
Around firepits, barbecues, small groups, and one-on-one mentorship, men will encounter the transforming presence of God. From these relationships, disciples will multiply, just as in the early church—each man investing in others until families, churches, communities, and businesses are impacted.
Impact & Calling
This is not a ministry of titles or position but of servanthood—washing feet, carrying burdens, and building marriages and families on the foundation of Christ. Out of this posture, God is raising men to carry discipleship into the marketplace—CEOs, business owners, and leaders who live boldly for Jesus, shaping their companies with Kingdom values and using their influence to transform culture.

Paolo Pero
Paolo Pero serves as Chair of New Life Ministries International and as a member of the Board of Directors at Revive City Church. He also leads the Men’s Ministry at Revive City Church and serves as a BetterMan Canada Champion, helping men grow in faith, character, leadership, and their God-given purpose.
With more than 25 years of entrepreneurial and leadership experience, Paolo has founded, owned, and operated several successful businesses in the food manufacturing, bakery, retail, and health and wellness industries. He is the founder and CEO of Morph Superfoods, the owner of Casa Del Pane, and a founder and owner of The Pastry Box. Throughout his business career, Paolo has led teams, developed emerging leaders, built organizations, and guided businesses through periods of growth, challenge, and transformation.

Paolo has a servant’s heart and believes leadership begins with humility, integrity, accountability, and a willingness to serve others. He is passionate about strengthening churches and organizations through sound governance, responsible stewardship, and Christ-centred leadership.
Paolo feels especially called to encourage and equip men to become faithful husbands, fathers, leaders, and servants in their homes, churches, workplaces, and communities. His desire is to see men develop an authentic relationship with Jesus, live with courage and conviction, and use their influence to serve and strengthen the next generation.
Paolo and his wife, Harmony, are devoted to their family, their faith, and serving the local church.
Peter vanTongeren
Peter serves as a Director on the New Life Ministries International board and through NLM partners with BetterMan.com as a BetterMan Champion to share this platform of discipling men across Canada.
Alongside his wife, Gonnie, he has owned and operated a multi-restaurant franchise for over 20 years, growing the brand in Edmonton before returning to Vancouver.
Peter and his wife continually seek God’s wisdom and grace as they strive to demonstrate the possibilities of a couple working, serving, and leading together not only at home but in the marketplace as well.
More about Peter
Having immigrated to Canada at the age of seven and been adopted into a foster home, Peter’s youth instilled in him the values of hard work, perseverance, and focus.
His experience on non-profit boards and representing franchise owners has further honed his skills in listening, thoughtful communication, and collaboration. These successes, failures and skills guide Peter in supporting men and women as they deepen their relationship with God.
